The IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant events are among the finalists of Les Vivats contest which recognizes best practices in organizing sustainable events. They are nominated in two categories, “Transport and energy efficiency ” and ” Waste management “. Selected among many other exceptional candidates, IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant has distinguished itself through its Carbon Neutral event of the Subaru IRONMAN event held in August 2015, for the infrastructure component and travel organizers.
The sustainability plan is applied for three IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant events and includes actions in different areas: transportation and greenhouse gas, power, responsible management of residues, local suppliers as much as possible, responsible management energy, water supply and other resources.
Shuttles and public transport are available to visitors and athletes to facilitate travel and reduce their number. According to an extensive calculation of GHG emissions, 57,4T GHG emitted by the IRONMAN organization were offset 100%.
